Above is a copy of the Letter of Authenticity by James Spence. He is the man for PSA when it comes to Authenticating Autographs, and is one of the more respected Authenticators in the Country. I spoke to Jim personally while at the National Show where I had this authenticated, and he told me this was one of the nicest pieces he has seen.
There are several other experts in the field, Jims contemporaries. Since I did not pay them to authenticate the ball, I will not use their names, but will say that they are very highly regarded in the autograph authentication community. They also looked at the ball, and loved it. I also want to add that none of them had ever seen Lou sign a ball "H.L. Gehrig" So those of you, who are interested in unique items, well, I have been told that this is a one of a kind! |
