1887 OLD JUDGE IMAGES, TAKE A LOOK at the KERRY SNYDER COLLECTION!




It ceases to amaze me how these collections that are new to the hobby keep turning up. In November, 2010 a smaller collection turned up, 39 cards, however, the cards were not in very good condition, but there were some extremely tough cards in there and lots of Maroons and other tough names. While I did not buy that collection, I helped place it.
This collection did not have any of the impossible cards, but the condition was unbelievable rivaling the excellent condition of the Indianapolis find, (2006), which was over 200 cards and can be seen using a link below. It is always exciting to get involved and have a chance to land one of these great collections, and aside from collecting these, and making money on them, I love to share the stories and images of the finds.
Unfortunately, unlike the previous large collections of these, not much of a story here, Kerry's grandfather had them, but, it appears he probably bought them in an auction when trying to accumulate tobacco related products. I was told he had quite a collection of Tobacco related ad items, but was not necessarily a sports memorabilia collector. Kerry recalled seeing these when he was younger about 20 years ago, and re-discovered them in the house he bought from his grand fathers estate after he died.
He contacted me as mentioned, and of course I was thrilled to buy them.
