1952 DIXIE CUP LIDS - Movie Stars
This 1952 Dixie Lid series consists of 24 Movie Stars. They came in 3 different sizes, 2 1/4" diameter,
2 3/4" and 3 1/4". The fronts have a picture of a Movie Star in blue tone ink and have a squared off bottom.
In addition they have the Stars name, the title of a recent movie for the pictured star and a line that says
"Save Any 12 Dixie Movie Lids for a Colored Picture of Me". There was a separate Set of 24 Baseball Players.
Dixie lids were custom made for many different ice cream makers. Dixie included advertising for the ice cream
companies on the top of the lid. Lids can be found for many different companies, you'll have to view the actual
image to determine the ice cream maker. Dixie also had a premium program where 12 Dixie Lids could be traded
for one large picture of a chosen movie star. These large premiums were usually 8 x 10 inches.
